1. Types of Unique Patient Identifiers

Intended Audience: Newcomers to Pharmacy Informatics

Last time we talked about the perfect/ideal unique patient identifier. Today, we go over some of the examples of the identifiers that are currently in use:

• Social Security Number
• Biometric Identifiers
• Voluntary Universal Healthcare Identifier
