On today’s episode, we had the opportunity to speak with Dr. Jing Wu on her role at Esri as an account executive for GIS and its relation to public health. This is an exciting new and VERY niche field that leverages location information analytics to identify opportunities for improvement in patient care and public health. Not only that, but GIS can also assist in shaping care access strategies to ensure public access to the necessary healthcare services in the various spaces.

In this episode, Dr. Wu discusses:
✅ What is GIS (Geospatial Information Systems)
✅ Use cases of GIS in healthcare (i.e. addressing the opioid epidemic)
✅ How pharmacists are important in analyzing GIS data and finding ways to strategically apply it
