214. What Did I Do In My Early Career in Informatics?

214. What Did I Do In My Early Career in Informatics?

Intended Audience: Newcomers to Pharmacy Informatics

A question that I get a lot of is what did I do in my early career in pharmacy informatics. Though I can't tell you the surefire steps to a successful informatics career, I can share you what my early steps are when I started. In this episode, I talk about:

  1. Volunteering for projects
  2. Learning the medication use process
  3. Connecting and maintaining relationships
  4. Joining groups that promote networking
  5. Be open to opportunities
  6. Keeping your CV updated
  7. Continually learn
  8. Continually expand your network

Again, these are my steps and they may work with some more than others. I hope this helps.
